
Walton Heritage Festival Returns!
On Saturday 18 September, Walton will celebrate its annual Heritage Day with a community event for all to enjoy including abseiling off the church Bell Tower, self-guided heritage trails, lots of family entertainment, and a duck race on the Thames!
Spread across a number of locations, you can soak up the community festival atmosphere and discover more about Walton-on-Thames’ rich history and heritage, focused around the town’s connection with its lifeblood, the River Thames.
Bridge Street Fair
11.30am – 4.30pm
All the fun of the fair! With children’s rides, free face painting, fun stalls and entertainment throughout the day.

St Mary’s Church
Do you have what it takes to Take on the Tower? Book your place for this unique opportunity to abseil down the historic church bell tower. Throughout the day, there will also be a rare chance to delve into the Parish records and discover local family history.
Fun Dog Show
12noon at Walton Wharf
Does your dog have that something special that could see them crowned ‘Best in Show’? Categories will include Prettiest Girl, Handsomest Dog, Cutest Puppy, Best Fancy Dress and My Dog’s Got Talent! Entry fee £2.50 per dog per category.
Truck Tow Competition
From 11.30am at Bridge Street
Get your team of up to 8 people together for the Truck Tow Competition to see who’s the strongest in Walton!
Duckathon
4pm at Walton Wharf
A totally quackers event, the Walton Duckathon is a race between 800 plastic ducks on the River Thames! Ducks will be sold for £2 each with numbers distributed at random and cash prizes up for grabs for the first three ducks over the line.
Cecil Hepworth Playhouse
Visit the iconic Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, the last-standing section of the Hepworth Film Studios who will be paying homage to cinema’s forgotten pioneer Cecil Hepworth with a series of tours and film screenings.
