Events at The Heart are back!
This September the Walton-on-Thames community is invited to join The Heart Shopping Centre for its first event in almost two years and it’s going to be One Great Day.
On Sunday 12th September, The Heart will be hosting a Family Fun Day which will be jam-packed full of fun family activities all helping to raise in excess of £2,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and local charity, Momentum Children’s Charity.
The event, which will take place between 11 am and 4 pm, will provide a host of activities for all to enjoy, from face painting and glitter tattoos to hook-a-duck, lucky dip, balloon modelling, a caricaturist and a pre=bookable tote bag decorating workshop for children!
As this event is focused on raising as much money as possible for chosen charities, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Kingston-upon-Thames based Momentum Children’s Charity, The Heart will be asking for donations ranging from £3-£10 for each activity. For the first time, donations will also be made using contactless card payments.
Mark Middleton, Centre Manager of The Heart comments: “We are very excited to be able to welcome back events at The Heart and to be doing our bit for two fantastic charities. Our last One Great Day event, which was also a Family Fun Day, raised £1,000 for charity and this year we’re looking to at least double this!
We appreciate that our community may be apprehensive about attending events following the recent pandemic however, our teams will be doing all they can to protect visitors while still providing a positive and fun environment. All activities, where possible, will be cleaned between each use and visitors will also be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided at each activity. Although face coverings are no longer a legal requirement, all team members working at the event will be wearing them for additional peace of mind.
In addition to taking part in our Family Fun Day, why not make a day of it and visit our 45 retailers and family-friendly restaurants, including our recently opened Thai restaurant Lemongrass. I would also like to remind those planning to visit that we have an 800 space on-site car park and that The Heart is fully disabled-friendly.
